Lawson's Grocery Store, near Talladega County Training School, was a place where customer's could sit and talk or even take a nap in the 1940's & 1950's. Standing at the gas pump is Alphonso Cunningham Sr, J.B. Truss is sitting next to the gas pump. Sitting along side the building form left to right are, J.C. Ragland, Burt Lawson, Robert "Boy" Cunningham & Archie Cunningham. |

Lune & Sudie Ragland Draper were well-known residents around Stemley Bridge. They owned about 300 acres of land in the Macedonia area, of Highway 34. In 1919, Lune purchased 900 acres in the Howell Cove community. He sold land to the Easley's, Turner's, Ragland's & Forman's. he built a home on Draper Road that is still standing. They farmed and raised 15 children. Lune died in the early 1930's, Sudie died in 1953. (Milton Drapers Parents) |
